3 Dimensional Computer Aided Design
We understand that the caravan interior is all about good use of space for easy living and maximum comfort. We achieve this by being smart about design right from the beginning. While computer drafting is common place these days, we go to the next step employing 3 dimensional modeling. This enables us to bring a design to life and experiment with many configurations to bring you the best possible layout.
Chassis Stress Analysis
Many caravans take a pounding on Australian roads. To ensure all Jurgens chassis go the distance, smart technology is used in the design phase. A process known as Finite Element Analysis is applied to the chassis design. This involves computer modeling to identify stress points on the chassis enabling them to be strengthened in just the right places.

hassis Construction
The Jurgens chassis is a uniquely designed, CNC fabricated, bolt together construction making it light weight and more rigid for better towability. Hot dip galvanizing delivers outstanding rust resistance.
Walls
A combination of materials are bonded together and vacuum pressed to create a very strong and light sandwich panel.

Suspension
The state of the art Alko IRS axle system offers greater stability and control on varying road conditions. The uniquely designed axle ensures the suspension compression and rebounds are dampened for a smoother ride.
Coupling
Jurgens caravans are fitted with Alko Stabiliser Coupling sets. They set new standards in towing safety. Easy to operate, when hooking up a unique visual indicator shows you when the coupling is engaged. When the stabiliser handle is lowered spring loaded friction pads press firmly against the towball. Their high damping force reduces even small snaking movements – immediately and automatically in both horizontal and vertical directions. For ease of manoeuvring, lift the stabiliser handle and the stabiliser will disengage, leaving the trailer coupled, with the towball able to move freely. And like all AL-KO units, they are fully protected to ensure a long rust free life.
Electric Brakes
Electric brakes means that the caravan has the ability to slow itself down rather than rely on the braking power of the tow vehicle – this makes for a much safer ride.
When you push the brake pedal in the car, the brakes on the caravan are also activated via the brake controller fitted in the car. High capacity electro magnets are energized and attract to the inside surface of the brake drum. Due to the rotation of the drum, the magnets move the lever arm in the same direction. This movement causes the actuating block at the top of the brake to push the front shoe against the drum. The force of the front shoe in turn pushes the back shoe into contact with the drum.
